New Skoda Octavia with “Emotional” Design
The fourth generation of Skoda Octavia family’s premiere will be held on November 11 in Prague. Along with the standard liftback and Combi station wagon, plug-in iV hybrids, RS versions and Scout are expected in 2020.
Today, the Czechs published two sketches of “the best-selling model in Skoda’s history,” which promise that the design “exudes more emotional appeal than ever”: an elongated silhouette, coupe-like flowing lines, a distinctive front section, large wheels, lights with “crystal elements. " Like, the new Octavia combines compact dimensions with "a very large amount of internal space."

There is no official information about power units yet, but there is evidence that the current gamut for Europe will largely remain, because it is not without difficulty adapted to WLTP standards. Now the range includes gasoline engines 1.0 TSI (116 hp, 200 N • m), 1.5 TSI (150 hp, 250 N • m), 2.0 TSI (190 hp, 320 N • m) and two diesel engines 1.6 TDI (116 hp, 250 N • m), 2.0 TDI (150 hp, 340 N • m). Five-and six-speed “mechanics”, as well as a seven-band “robot” DSG help the engines. Two-liter versions are equipped with all-wheel drive.
